On Arrival
Parking is available on St Brydes Street, but the street can be busy before 5pm Mon-Fri. If you're lesson time is at 5pm or earlier, Mon-Fri, we rerecommended parking in the larger carparks at the back of the village theatre, or across from the coop.
Please do not park in the bays directly outside A1 Tyres office. Parking in these bays during their opening hours interferes with this business.
Once at VSOM HQ pop into our reception and our lovely staff will tick you off on the register and show you to your class.

Holidays
Our year is based on 42 weeks running from August to the end of June, and roughly follows the South Lanarkshire school holidays.
Our standing order payment scheme takes into account all the holidays for the year – a total of 9 weeks – so, once set up the Standing Order runs continuously without cancelling unless you decide to leave VSOM.

Extra Activities
We believe that our students should have an outlet to showcase their hard work and talent, so as well as recording and filming projects we also hold two concerts annually – a Summer and Christmas show - and these are our students moment to shine!

Taking part in our projects and concerts is not mandatory, however we do recommend it when possible.
​
Dates for our next concert will be confirmed very soon!
​
In 2016 we recorded and released a charity single and music video, which which raised hundreds of pounds for our favourite charity, and we have big plans to record and release another.

Exams & gradings
At VSOM we teach various curriculum's and our students can sit exams with the following accredited bodies:

We encourage our students to take part in exam gradings, but we do stress it’s not mandatory as we understand some students like to see music lessons as a hobby!
If you do wish to take part in exam grading, please let your tutor or reception know.

Payment Methods
To secure a place in your chosen class, please follow the guidance and payment structure below. Students can pay by:

- Monthly Standing Order,
- Monthly Block Payment - Cash at Reception
- Weekly Pay as You Go - Cash at Reception

**10% discount applies to monthly fees for students attending more than one class, and families with 2 or more students attending the school - Discount not applicable for 1 - 1 or 2 - 1 lessons **

Standing Order Information
Our Standing Order payment method is designed to simplify paying your VSOM fees, and help spread the cost of tuition over the year, and is based on 42 weeks of lessons, provided August to June, and divided into 12 bite-sized monthly payments.
You can opt in at any time throughout the year, and to opt out, just give reception 4 weeks written notice: cancellations@villageschoolofmusic.co.uk

Any students / parents wishing to pay by this method, simply set up a standing order with your bank for the amount above.
Please also note student’s full name as a reference.
Please note; The Standing Order payment method is paid 12 months of the year, and should remain active over summer and winter holidays.
Refunds
Fees are typically only refunded if VSOM cannot provide a scheduled lesson or an alternative catch-up lesson.

Cancellations
lessons & standing orders
If you no longer wish to take part in lessons at VSOM just email cancellations@villageschollofmusic.co.uk
All we ask for is two weeks notice, then you simply cancel the standing order from your bank after your final lesson.
We cannot manage your standing order, so please remember it is your responsibility to cancel when necessary.
Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds for standing orders that are cancelled late.
